How to choose the right couch for your space

Size matters

Before buying a couch, measure the area you want to put it in. You might fall in love with a couch and think it will fit, but when it arrives, there’s no space for it. Or it looks lost in a large open plan area. Also consider what other furniture needs to fit into the room – a coffee table? Other chairs? Although the couch should be the main feature, it shouldn’t dominate the room. Draw up a floor plan on paper and establish whether your new couch will suit the proportions.
