Well-draining soils might be the staple for most plants but there are a few that enjoy soggy moist soils. If you are into moist-loving plants, then this list is for you.
Only a selected few thrive in such soils and knowing which plants to choose is vital when growing in soggy soils.
Gardening in wet soil areas
If your garden is constantly damp and regular plants struggle to grow, it may be time to think of alternative ways. Most wet gardens are only wet during particular seasons rather than year-round. This allows you to continue making your garden bright and thriving even during such seasons. Known as moist-loving plants these ideal plants will produce colourful flowers.
Buttonbush
Some shrubs and trees like the buttonbush will tolerate moist soils. This shrub is extremely tolerant thriving through drought and wetland-like conditions. This trait makes it the perfect plant for moist areas in your garden. When in bloom they produce white flowers that attract butterflies and bees alike.
