Jane Griffiths, author and herb fundi, suggests using turmeric as arthritic relief for older dogs

If you notice stiffness in your dogs’ joints after they have been sleeping or if they begin to limp after a walk, it’s time to start giving them something to ease joint pain. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory, which works quickly to reduce painful joint swelling. It is accompanied by the strengthening and cleansing qualities of alfalfa, parsley and clover.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- ¼ cup each dried alfalfa and clover
- 2T dried parsley root, powdered
- 2T powdered turmeric
METHOD:
Mix all the ingredients together and store in an airtight container. Give your dogs half a teaspoon morning and evening, mixed into their food. If they don’t like it on their food, mix it separately in some tasty meat or chicken broth.
