How to grow Eucalyptus
When planting or potting, don’t try to loosen or break up the roots, which are very sensitive to disturbance. Mulch around the base after planting to help retain moisture.
Soil: Eucalyptus grows well in dry to medium soil with excellent drainage. When growing it indoors, mix potting soil, and compost. Clay soils should be combined with coarse grit.
Light: Eucalyptus grows in full sun, requiring at least six hours of direct sun per day.
Water: This plant thrives with low to moderate watering. However, young plants and container plants require regular watering to support growth and establish roots. Plants are drought-tolerant once established.
Pruning: Unless you plan to grow eucalyptus as a tree, plants will require regular pruning to maintain their size.
Eucalyptus plants are a beautiful and practical addition to any home or garden. Their fragrant, silvery-blue foliage and versatile growth options, bring a touch of natural elegance and a soothing aroma to your space.
