Steps to follow
Step 1: Choose the right location
Most vegetables prefer to get as much sun as possible, with a few exceptions. So, choose a location in your garden that gets maximum sun exposure all day long.
Step 2: Determine your ideal bed size and the layout
A garden bed has to be unique. Whether you have a small garden or an open space, your garden beds can be designed to fit that space. Let your imagination run wild with the layout.
Step 3: Board cutting
The type of wood or board can vary but needs to be rot-resistant. Keep the interior of my garden bed to 2′ x 4′. You can adjust any of the sizing of your bed so that it fits the space you have. Cut the short and the long sides of your bed. When doing this determine the length of your garden beds.
Step 4: Drilling the holes
With all your needs determined, you must start drilling holes in your boards. Assemble the shorter ends of your bed first. Repeat the process with all your boards.
Now drill two holes in each side of your cut boards. Then, attach them to the long edge of the 2×4 using tight wood screws and wood glue to keep the boards from moving.

Step 5: Add the surface protection
With your board, all sides, and the bottom part created, it’s time to add inside the board.
Line your bed with hardware mesh wire or use some landscaping fabric. These are both ideal linings as they can’t be chewed through by rodents or have weeds growing through them. You can combine both or use one of them.
Step 6: Fill your garden bed with soil
After your raised garden bed is situated, it needs to be filled with organic soil. This is very important as you need the best soil for your raised bed.
With the soil prepped, you can now go ahead and start cultivating your seeds.
Now you know everything you need to know and can now confidently design your own raised garden bed.
