When tending to young seedlings, there needs to be a balance between giving them too much water and keeping them from drying out. The seedlings are still in their delicate stages and need careful watering ways. These methods will ensure your seeds survive their early stages.
Methods to watering your seedlings well
Not only is it important to give your seeds the right amount of water, but it is also important how you water them. There are many effective ways to keep them watered enough without accidentally washing them away. While you still want to give them plenty of moisture, dumping on too much water or less water can prove detrimental to the young seeds.

Water the soil before planting.
Moistening your soil before planting has several advantages. It means your soil won’t require too much watering at the beginning, and this reduces the chances of your seeds washing away. This method also helps your soil bind together, avoiding seed displacement when watering.
Misting
Watering your seedlings with a mister can help them from being washed away. The mist provides moisture without disturbing the young seedlings and is also effective in pre-moistening your soil. The disadvantage to misting is it does not go deep into the soil as it only covers the surface of the soil.
Use an eye dropper
For proper, accurate watering, you can utilize an eye dropper or even a syringe. Although it may be impractical and time-consuming, it is still effective. It allows you to directly water exactly where you want it.
Try bottom watering
Bottom watering requires time and attention, but it is one of the most effective ways to keep the soil moist. What it does is it relies on capillary action to absorb water through holes in the bottom of the containers until the soil is even moist. This, in turn, helps keep the seeds intact.

Knowing when and how to water the growing seeds will keep them from being displaced. While many of the methods mentioned above will work, you still need to check your seedlings to ensure optimal growth.
