For fans of musicals, Into the Woods is sure to be a treat. Playing at the Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino, this production with songs by Stephen Sondheim (West Side Story, Sweeney Todd) tells a grown-up story featuring well-known fairy tale characters like Cinderella and Red Riding Hood. Watch Dumbo at the Bioscope

Bring the kids along and experience cinema of yesteryear. The Bioscope presents the Classic Movie Club: Dumbo. The heart-warming Disney film from 1941 is sure to entertain the whole family and the positively hipster venue is always a must-visit. Tickets available from Tix SA. Showing until 27 March 2019.

Attend Johannesburg Zoo’s birthday celebrations

Celebrate the Johannesburg Zoo’s 115th birthday with events throughout March and April. On the 23rd and 24th of March, you can take part in a number of activities such as a heritage tour, feeding sessions and interactions with chimpanzees, gorillas, crocodiles and more. Bring along an unused animal-friendly toy as a donation. Sessions are from 10am to 3pm and you can call Sophia Mtshali on 011 646 2000 to book.

Rock the Lawns at the Kenilworth Race Course

If you haven’t got tickets for Rock the Lawns yet, there are still some available for this show that headlines legendary band, The Cure. Taking place at Kenilworth Race Course, this outdoor music festival boasts local acts like Zebra & Giraffe (reuniting after many years), Karen Zoid and more. Catch Chicago at the Artscape Theatre

Experience ‘All that Jazz’ with the hit musical Chicago, playing at the Artscape Theatre Centre until 14 April 2019.
