Decorex Joburg 2024 returns to Sandton Convention Centre this August

Get your decor and design fix at Decorex from 1 – 4 August 2024 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Joburg.

Running simultaneously alongside 100% Design Africa, the definitive showcase of contemporary design in Africa, Decorex Joburg offers two shows, and daily live talks and impressive demonstrations.

Here’s where you can find everything you need at Decorex Joburg 2024:

The Decor, Lighting and Design Hall on Level 5 of the Sandton Convention Centre.
100% Design Africa is on Level 2.
Kitchens and Bathrooms on Level 0.
The Renovate, Build and Trade Connect Hall on Level -2 will showcase the ‘everything else’ you need to make your home and/or office space an oasis. Think walls, floors, doors, windows, roofs, fixtures, fittings, landscaping and more.

Here are a few things to look forward to:

100% Design Africa

This curated product showcase includes a stylish café created by Wolkberg Casting Studios; a new set of Future Talks in the Future of Design area; a dedicated display by Designer of the Year, Tristan du Plessis; 100% Hospitality by Belgotex X Hesse Kleinloog; and a host of new product launches by local stars such as Joe Paine.

The Lexus ‘Making Luxury Personal’ Spaces

The Lexus ‘Making Luxury Personal’ Spaces at Decorex is inspired by the brand ethos of ‘Making Luxury Personal’ with interior design from Anna Correira, Mink Interiors, MoTSO DeSIGNED and Plan-It Design.

With the senses at the forefront, Lexus has invited the abovementioned South African designers to create four feature spaces, inspired by the latest Lexus car models. Their concept space needed to be based on one of the five ‘Making Luxury Personal’ pillars: Authentic, Refined, Engaging, Imaginative, and Omotenashi – a Japanese expression describing concepts of hospitality as well as mindfulness.

The DIY Paint Theatre by Fired Earth

The DIY Paint Theatre by Fired Earth invites participants to get their hands dirty and be part of the interactive classes, colour talks and learn tips, tricks and techniques for all their painting needs.

Trojan Health’s home gym concept stand

Learn how to incorporate bulky gym equipment into your home with sophistication and style. The home gym concept stand is also ideal for interior design professionals who might be on the look for fitness solutions in their hospitality endeavours.

The Plascon Colour Design Pods

GLE Interiors, Living Inspired Interiors, and Ndibali Interior Designs is set to explore the possibilities of colour using the Plascon Colour Forecast for 2024. ‘Vibrant Harmony’ aims to bring together the dynamic world of interior design and the latest colour trends.

The Decorex House

Private Property will display construction elements in a conceptual house installation in the Renovate and Build Hall with top products and brands chosen by the Decorex Africa team to present construction elements such as windows, doors, lighting, floors, surfaces and home automation.

The Samsung Bespoke Cooking Theatre

The Samsung Bespoke Cooking Theatre features a lineup of sizzling chefs sharing their secret recipes using top-of-the-range Samsung large appliances.

The Samsung team will demonstrate AI feature on the S24 called Circle to Search – simply scan or photograph anything food-related and it will tell you what it is and where to buy it!

Eiger Experience Theatre

This interactive area features ‘foodfluencers’ demonstrating Eiger appliances.

That Food Guy® Café

Built on the vision of providing authentic fresh bites and coffees made with nothing but the best local ingredients, a first-of-its-kind, proudly South African, That Food Guy® Café experience will pop up on Level 0. Getting the jump on Heritage Month in September, the activation will feature a menu that highlights key food heritage moments through the tagline of ‘Heritage Reimagined’.

Think jaffles stuffed with much-loved local flavours like curried mince and butter chicken, fresh salads, mouth-watering sweets like mini milk tarts and jelly and custard, and the most delicious coffees – with rusks of course!
