From liaising with clients to drawing up designs, Marc du Toit’s diverse role at Classic Revivals means he’s on the ball when it comes to decor trends
Punchy indigo blues juxtaposed with antique pieces is a style favoured by Marc. And it’s not expensive to achieve. “You can buy willow pattern crockery at your local Chinese supermarket for as little as R30. Use indigo throws and scatters to accessorise items you already own,” advises Marc. It does, however, pay to invest in good quality antique furniture as these pieces will stand the test of time and can be updated regularly. “Create rich layers by adding a deep-indigo throw to an antique upholstered chair and mix in some brass and chrome. Natural fibres like sisal and coir add to the colonial feel,” says Marc.
