Tip 1: LEND SOPHISTICATION TO YOUR LIVING AREA
Swap your accessories each season. “You can easily change the personality of a sofa or chair depending on how you dress it,” says Louise. Linen scatters will create a cool summery feel, while leather or velvet cushions and a cashmere or chunky knitted throw will warm things up in winter.”
TIP 2: CREATE AN ENTRANCE THAT IMPRESSES
Make the most of mirrors and reflective furnishings. If your budget’s tight, revamp an old console table by cladding it with mirror. “Use good quality glass that won’t easily shatter and run wooden beading along the edges to protect them from chipping.”
TIP 3: CREATE A CHIC KITCHEN
Pay attention to small details. “Cheap handles can ruin a kitchen” declares Louise, so invest in quality hardware. Here, she’s combined three different types of handles – cup, bar and crystal – for a stylishly eclectic effect.
TIP 4: TURN YOUR BEDROOM INTO A BOUDOIR
Invest in your bedding. “A bed requires a minimum of three layers to make a statement,” explains Louise. “Start with a quality quilt or duvet cover set as a base. Next add a fluffy throw; loosely drape it across the bed, rather than neatly folding it to create a sumptuous and inviting feel. Finish the look with a few textured scatters.”
