To respect the rich farming tradition of the surrounding area, Tracy Levinson of LevEco Architects designed this four-bedroom family home as a series of single-storey structures with pitched corrugated roofs. It was constructed using an eco-friendly and economical method: a pre-manufactured light galvanised steel frame was used for the walls, which were then clad with a variety of materials. Houses built this way are surprisingly quick to erect. “A house of 300m2 can take as little as three to four months to fully complete. This saves enormously on labour costs,” says Tracy.
