Gerhard Breedt of Gerhard Architect (082 652 3889 or gerhardarchitect.co.za) was challenged to design this 386m2 double-storey house around the enormous trees on the site. To link the open-plan ground floor living rooms with the outdoors, he included deck areas and balconies and cleverly made use of modern cantilevering techniques. A curved pool that wraps around the base of this contemporary four-bedroom house is another unique feature.
