Making the newspaper pots
Step 1: Ready all your supplies
Get your stack of old newspapers, a pair of scissors and your glass all in one place. Make sure you have all the essential supplies gathered in one place before you begin to ensure that you can complete the task on time.
Step 2: Cut your newspapers
This step depends on what you prefer. You can cut the newspapers into three strips or fold up one long side of the newspaper. Take the other long side and fold down, so they overlap. When cutting you can cut three longer strips of the newspaper given they’ll be enough to fill in your soil without leakage.
Step 3: Roll the glass
After you’ve decided on how your newspaper will be, the rest is easier. Take your glass and lay it down sideways. Now roll the newspaper up around the glass. Once your newspaper is rolled up around the glass, you can now fold the ends over around the bottom of the glass.
Remove the glass and fold it up through the bottom of the newspaper to lock it into place, then secure it with tape or glue. Repeat the process as many times as you can depending on how many newspaper pots you need.
Step 4: Fill your pots with soil
With your newspaper pots fully secured, with the final step, you’ll now start prepping your newspaper pots for seeds. Start by filling your pots with any soil mix of your choice, then add the seeds you want and all the necessary things they need to get them ready for transplant.
