“Our thinking was why do we so often turn to styles such as French, when the beauty of our country offers just as much inspiration,” explains Janette.
“The plants together with animal horns give the table a wonderful organic and indigenous quality, but by introducing elegant glassware there’s still a certain formality,” says Errol.

Antique silver cutlery adds to the sense of occasion, while rustic wooden breadboards that function as placemats create contrast in style and simplicity.
“A themed table setting shouldn’t be immediately obvious,” the pair agrees. “The aim is for guests to recognise the unifying elements slowly, one by one.”
