Durban bathroom designer Sally Shaw shares tips for selecting suitable finishes for outdoor showers
- As these showers are outdoors, keep the finishes as natural and durable as possible. Wood, stone, marble, slate and plastered concrete look good and work well.
- Ceramic floor tiles can be slippery when wet so go for mosaic tiles or wooden decking that’s comfortable underfoot.
- Invest in good quality showerheads, mixers, rails and soap dishes that won’t rust. As a trendy alternative to a conventional shower ask a plumber to fashion the shower from copper piping.
- The drain must be able to cope with showering and heavy rain.
